A worker may begin at one of several levels, depending on whether they have prior experience, and the extent of their experience:
Do you have experience in electrical construction, and can you provide proof of prior electrical experience? (W-2s, pay stubs, letter from employer, etc.)
Or are you looking to get started, but have little or no prior experience?
Based on hours of experience, you could be placed in the Construction Wireman (CW) program. This is an hours-based advancement program.
These positions are not apprenticeships.
No prior experience, or limited prior experience in Electrical Construction:
Inside Construction Wireman (CW):
CW-1 starting wage is 40% of Inside Journeyman wage, or $19.42 per hour, plus benefits.
Classifications, Hours, and Wages:
CW-1: 0-2000 hrs, 40% of Journeyman wage
CW-2: 2001-4000 hrs, 45% of Journeyman wage
CW-3: 4001-6000 hrs, 55% of Journeyman wage
No prior experience, or limited prior experience in Voice Data Video (Low Voltage) Electrical Construction:
Installer Trainee (IT):
IT-1 starting wage is 45% of Installer Technician wage, or $15.02 per hour, plus benefits.
Classifications, Hours, and Wages:
IT-1: 0-2000 hrs, 45% of Technician wage plus benefits
IT-2: 2001-4000 hrs, 50% of Technician wage plus benefits
IT-3: 4001-6000 hrs, 60% of Technician wage plus benefits
IT-4: 6001-8000 hrs, 70% of Technician wage plus benefits
IT-5: 8000+ hrs, 80% of Technician wage plus benefits
