This is the perfect opportunity to introduce youngsters to the benefits of fishing and the abundance of public access opportunities available in our community. Each registered kid will receive a fishing pole that is his or hers to keep, so register the kids, grab your camera and get ready for a fun day at Vilas Park! Be sure to join us after the event for a picnic-style lunch.
This event is free and open to the public, but it is limited to the first 150 kids. All participants must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or chaperon. Please pre-register by Friday, May 20.
At a recent monthly membership meeting we voted to donate some money to this great news service, so check it out!
Workers Independent News has recently been accepted onto NPR’s Public Radio Satellite Service, which distributes audio content to over 400 NPR stations across the country. WIN is beginning a campaign to convince as many NPR affiliates as possible to air the material, and at some point, may call on members of IBEW 159 to put listener pressure on our local WPR stations to do just that!
Until then, you can click on “WIN In Your Inbox” at www.laborradio.org, and write “Send me WIN” to get the daily headlines in your email.
